Australian rapper Iggy Azalea recently released the lead single, “Sally Walker” for her upcoming sophomore album In My Defense coming out this spring. The song is a sample from the nursery rhyme “Little Sally Walker”. Who would have thought we would be singing that name again after all this time?

To be clear, we never know what to anticipate from Iggy. 2018 was a bumpy year for her. She fell from the good graces of her audience, and this single could be her chance to come back. This is expected to be her first real hit since “Fancy” with Charlie XCX and “Problem” with Ariana Grande.

Whether you like it or not, the song is extremely catchy. She raps some shady verses and hypes herself up along with the piano-infused production. It’s actually really hard to get the rhyme out of your head.

On the same day of the single’s premier, the music video was released as well. In her music video, the actress who played Sally was walking across the street admiring herself in a compact mirror and was hit by a car. The rest of the video was in the setting of her funeral. The video also features cameos of other famous celebrities, some of which were former contestants from RuPaul’s Drag Race and the makeup artist/youtuber James Charles.

Overall, the song is a little haunting, but the music video is really interesting to watch. We’ll see where this goes for Iggy. She’s always a hit or miss.
