Taylor Swift ‘Midnights’ Album Anticipation

After nearly two years of silence, musician Taylor Swift released her tenth studio album  Midnights. The album follows folklore released July 24, 2020 and evermore released Dec. 11, 2020, and was hinted at during her acceptance speech for “Best Long Form Music Video” for ‘All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)’ at the MTV Video Music Awards Aug. 29. 

The album was officially announced on Instagram later with the caption “Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight.”

The song titles were announced through a series of TikToks titled “Midnight Mayhem with Me” released Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at midnight. Song titles include track 1 as ‘Lavender Haze’, track tirteen as ‘Mastermind’, and track 4 as ‘Snow on the Beach’ featuring Lana Del Ray.

Prior to the release, Swift came out with four distinct album covers, all available for pre-order on her website, as well as a signed vinyl and picture.

Midnights will be available at midnight Friday, Oct. 21. The first song to have a music video is ‘Anti-Hero’, which will be released later Oct. 21 at 8 a.m. ET. Swift released other future events regarding the album in a short video titled “Midnights Manifest” during Thurday Night Football on Amazon Prime Video, and includes talk show appearances, future music video releases, and other unnamed events.
