The 8^th annual Mr. Viking was held Feb. 27. 15 senior boys from Howell competed in the beauty pageant in a talent show, followed by a portion of the show where the contestants picked random slips of papers from a hat to answer questions to the best of their ability.

After the audience cast their votes, 6 finalists were chosen: Malcohm Hudson, Zachary Reader, Aric Heismeyer, Ryan Perkins, Colton White, and Tommy Wasiuta. These 6 boys were asked answer one final question before the 7 judges chose the winner.

Tommy Wasiuta was voted Mr. Congeniality by his fellow contestants, Colton White was 2^nd runner-up, Aric Heismeyer was 1^st runner-up, and Mr. Baseball Ryan Perkins was named 2016 Mr. Viking.

“I honestly was not expecting to win,” Perkins said. “I was really surprised by it, I think we all were but it was so fun.”
