When students aren’t doing zumba or P90X, they’re riding bikes in the Fit For Life gym class. Students ride school provided bikes two times a week.

Students wait in line to receive their bike and helmet, then start riding. But before being able to go on trails, students have to pass a test on biking rules and safety.

Senior Nathan Shirrell rides bikes out of school and was excited once he heard the class entailed the new activity. “Being able to ride bikes at school is really fun, especially after sitting at a desk all day,” Shirrell said. “I ride bikes at home a lot. I went on a fifty mile biking trip over summer, I really enjoy being able to ride bikes in gym too”.
