Spanish Club Creates Piñatas

Armed with latex balloons and newspaper strips, Spanish Club prepared to create Christmas piñatas, Nov. 19.

With the intention of celebrating a hispanic Christmas tradition, the club plans to spend several meetings working on the piñatas, decorating them with traditional Christmas elements.

“It is important to practice Spanish culture in order to learn about the hispanic community.” Spanish club member and junior, Macy Anderson said.

The piñatas are being created using a paper mache technique, where a balloon is covered in newspaper strips attached with a flour-water paste.

The piñatas created will be advertised as part of a display in the upstairs A hallway.
