Oct. 7, Golden Girl’s and Co. cheer at Howell’s first virtual Pep Assembly.

Oct. 7, all Howell Time classrooms watched the first virtual homecoming pep assembly. Including performances from the Golden Girls, the cheerleaders, and the band, the event also showcased the Hoco Court’s debut.

This year’s court included freshmen Piper Roedel and Maddox Duncan; sophomores Jericho Hood and Mariah Schaffer; juniors Zora Williams and Pascal Sikorski; and seniors Lily Hales, Nathan Polancyak, Kelsey Kehoe, Justin Olwig, Riley Roedel, Sam Maddox, Chloee Rudolph, and Reed Wilson. Voting occurred Oct. 7 and STUCO will announce the winner at the homecoming football game, Oct. 9.

Activities director Sean Erwin set up a live-stream using Switcher Studio and engaged a trio of videographers positioned at different angles around the gym. Erwin chose senior Allie Thornton to lead the event as emcee.

“As the host, things were a bit stressful. I was worried I was going to mess up but people told me I did fine. I enjoyed watching all of the performances and working with the camera crew to make it all come together,” Thornton said.

The live stream can be rewatched at howellvikingstv.com.
