Howell came close to winning the Game of the Week, which would have changed the popularity and importance of last Friday’s game against Webster Groves.
When the “Webster Groves @ Francis Howell” football game was put on the poll for Game of the Week, students in computer classes started voting and were in the lead until noon. Eventually “Union @ Borgia” won the contest, and contest organizers discovered some robotic voting.
“It would have given us momentum to barrel into our opponents,” senior Samuel Harper said.
Despite losing the Game of the Week, the varsity football team did barrel into its opponents, beating Webster Groves, 31-7.
“More people would have gone to see it,” junior Adam Robinson said. “I think that losing the Game of the Week is a disgrace to our school.”
