Seniors Commemorate Final Year with Handprints

Decked in rubber gloves covered in paint, seniors lined up for the senior handprints, Nov 11.

“It’s a fun and exciting senior year tradition,” senior Emily Baker said.

The senior classes officers run the show, collecting money and brushing paint onto outstretched hands. Seniors pay $1 to place their blue and yellow handprints on the wall near the senior sqaure; the money funds future senior events.

“All the senior class officer’s hands overlap,” senior Sarah Bostic said. “It shows our unified commitment to this school.”

Beside each handprint, seniors sign their names.

“It’s like leaving a piece of yourself behind, your mark on the school,” senior Evan Johnson said.

The Class of 2016’s handprints will remain on the wall for the next year.

“It’s school spirit represented on a physical wall,” senior Justin Jennings said.
