As the month of October begins to wind down, fall sports enter into postseason play. Varsity softball claimed the title of district champions, Oct. 9, but lost in sectional play to Howell North, Oct. 14, 4-3. With a regular season record of 7-1, girls varsity tennis won districts but lost in sectionals. Junior Bridget Schulte advanced to state for girls varsity golf, placing 55th. The next postseason matchup is varsity football against Hickman, Oct. 23, at home. Varsity girls and boys cross country will begin districts, Oct. 24. Marching band will host a Howell Viking Invitational, Oct. 24. Also on Oct. 24, girls varsity volleyball will play sectionals after winning the district championship over Timberland, Oct. 21. Boys varsity swim and dive continues its season with the GAC meet, Oct. 27. Finally, after its win over Lindbergh, Oct. 20, boys varsity soccer will play its next game at home against Ft. Zumwalt West, Oct. 27.
