Halloween.   The one night each year that ghosts and princesses walk down the same streets and kids are gifted with enough candy to rot their teeth out.  This week’s recipe is an ode to this over-glorified and commercialized holiday that was originally the Celtic New Year.

This Caramel Apple Dip is definitely not lacking sugar.  There’s brown sugar, white sugar AND Kraft soft caramels in it.  Talk about a sugar rush!  I was making the recipe last night around 10:15 and was slowly drifting into a subconscious sleep, simply going through the motions of mixing the ingredients together.  I think the most strenuous  part of the whole thing was unwrapping all of the caramels.

When I dipped a bit of granny smith into this sugary concoction I’d have to say I was presently surprised.  The combo of caramel and cream cheese was a nice balance of sweet and salty.  Add the apples and you’ve got a party in your mouth.
