Cafeteria Upgrade

Early in February, students walked into the cafeteria to find a remodel of not only the physical cafeteria, but also of the food.

The cafeteria staff and supervisors are always trying to make the lunch time experience better, and by adding the TVs, they made it easier for students to see what the options were for that line. This reduced the amount of wasted time waiting in line for something students may not be interested in. This also made the battle to see the very small wooden stand menus go away completely.

Sodexo, the company that is partnered with the district to make healthy and tasty food during lunches, interviewed over 300 students to find out what the people wanted. This survey resulted in things like international cuisine, macaroni, and caesar salad.

The students are responding well theses changes. Sales have gone up seven percent since the upgrades, and cafeteria staff has noticed an interest in the new products. The cafeteria staff, as well as the district, have done a good job in making the cafeteria a better place to get and eat the food and should be commended.
