Christopher Comstock, known famously as Marshmello, an electronic music producer, recently released a bubbly single “Happier” with British band Bastille August 17, 2018. Bastille originally wrote the song a year prior and decided to collaborate with another artist who happened to be Marshmello.

“Happier” falls under the genre of pop with its upbeat and playful sound. The song is lead with the soft and saturated vocals of Dan Smith.

The title of the song is quite deceiving. When you look at the title and the album cover, you think it’s a feel-good kind of song, but when you actually listen to the lyrics, it’s exactly the opposite. The song is about a breakup where one person in the relationship thinks it’s best to leave to make the other happier.
