Howell had its first annual Future Viking Night at the varsity football game against the Mehlville Panthers Friday, Aug 18.

Students from the district’s feeder elementary and middle schools were recognized at halftime. This new tradition was started to “bring the new students into the Howell family,” Activities Director Sean Erwin said, “and to show them what it means to be a viking.’

Friday nights are “not just about football, but about the culture and expanding the family atmosphere,” said Erwin.

The overall hope is that future students will feel excited for high school instead of an overwhelming uncertainty.
