FCCLA Competes in Iron Chef Competition

Wonton wraps and lemongrass bars were the pride and joy of the FCCLA team at the Iron Chef competition at Howell North on Nov. 17. Howell placed third with 103 points among the other district culinary teams.

The competition mirrors the popular television show on Food Network, with the similar concept of a secret ingredient being given to the competitors to make a meal in specific time period.

The meal made with the special ingredient, chocolate, was crunchy fried chicken with a chocolate sauce.

“We worked really hard together and as a real team,” senior Anthony Usai said. “It wasn’t an easy task, but we pulled through.”
