Howell welcomes new coaches

Coach Clinton Tanner helped the girls track program as assistant coach until this February. Now head coach, Tanner works specifically with pole vaulters and jumpers. Tanner has trained high school, college, and professional athletes. He stated he is looking forward to working with the great kids and coaches that have developed a strong history of excellence at Howell. 

 

Feb.28, Mr.Nazell Alston took over as the new girls cross country coach. He’ll work with the girls distance runners in the spring.  Alston coached at McCluer South Berkley for the past years, coaching at Riverdale Baptist, Virginia Union University, and DeMatha Catholic before that. While at Virginia Union University, Alston secured a CIAA title and sent two athletes to the NCAA championship.

 

Division II All-American Jerod Broadbooks accepted the job of boys cross country head coach. An All-Conference athlete at Eureka High School, while at Lindenwood University, Broadbooks helped his team to an MIAA championship, placing 21st. He later placed 37th at NCAA regionals. He started working with the boys distance runners Feb.28.
