“Earth” Single Review

April 19, Lil Dicky released his song “Earth” featuring about 30 voices of other celebrities or artists.

The music video starts by showing kids who knocked over a trash can. When Lil Dicky stumbles upon the trash on the ground,  the children insult him and tell him to clean it up. He chases the kids off after multiple insults, and his comedic, animated music video begins from there.

The music video features the artist’s Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Halsey, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brendon Urie, Charlie Puth, Miley Cyrus, Meghan Trainor, and more as plants or animals throughout different parts of the world singing about their characters.

The whole song  preaches about the increasingly poor conditions on earth, and what we can do to prevent it. Lil Dickys comedic approach on a serious topic delivers the message in a unique way.

“We love the earth, it is our planet, we love the earth, it is our home,” Lil Dicky sings.

Throughout the song, Lil dicky himself and the other artists sing about how humans have really screwed up the world.

Pollution, littering, and global warming are all topics discussed in the song. These topics have such a major light placed on them in the song because our society is overlooking these big issues.

The overall message is that we can no longer look past the worsening conditions of our earth, and we must actively do something now to prevent it from getting much worse.

The animated visuals Lil Dicky provides in his music video show the true beauty of the earth, and make people realize its importance.

“Earth” by Lil Dicky was a groundbreaking song this year, and has enlightened many people about things to do to make the world a happier, healthier planet.
