Feb. 14 and 15, the girls swim team went to state after a victory-filled season.

“It feels really good. I’m really proud of this team. We’re so young; we have a bunch of freshman, so the amount of freshman we have going to state is awesome,” sophomore Sammi Allen said.

Allen participated in the 200 relay and the four-free relay with her fellow teammates where they placed 25 and dropped seconds off their time in both relays despite a mix up in the 400 relay.

“I was really happy we cut four seconds in our four-free relay and one second in our 200 medley,” freshman Caitlin Mattingly said.

Overall, this was a victory year for the girls swim team they achieved not only personal victories but also achieved a victory as a team.
