Weight Training

Before and during the season athletes train hard in order to be able to compete at their highest level.

“Lifting weights has made me stronger and more confident when i’m competing in football and wrestling,” Senior Isaac Lazos said.

Howell offers a weight room and other resources in order to help student athletes achieve their goals. The weight room is full of equipment to help maximize gains and improve. There are eight stations where you can do lifts with a barbell such as squatting or bench press. Two racks of dumbells allow the lifter choices to choose from as they get stronger. The spots in the middle of the room are used to do lifts such as hang clean and deadlift.

Fall sports teams such as the football team, soccer team and softball team used the weight room all off season to get better and prepare for their season.
