Christmas Specials

During the month of December, movies and shows such as Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer, Christmas Hallmark series and Elf  become staples.

“Hallmark movies are so cheesy that I find them funny. It’s tradition to watch them with my mother and my grandma every year,” junior Shelby Maddox said. “My mother and I watch the Hallmark movies every Saturday at our grandma’s house. She lives about an hour away in Fulton, Missouri. We spend the whole day at her house shopping, baking cookies, and watching other Christmas movies such as Home Alone.”

Some have a Christmas special that stands out the most.

“My favorite Christmas special is A Christmas Carol,” sophomore Ben Jackson said. “But this year I’m super hyped to watch the Polar Express and I plan to watch these Christmas specials with family because it is a tradition.”

Christmas specials can bring back fond childhood memories.

“Watching all the Spongebob Christmas specials with my brothers and my dad always gave me some good vibes,” senior Caleb Meriweather said. “I really enjoyed watching the Drake & Josh specials, and the Fairly Oddparents too,” Meriweather said.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas came out Nov. 8, 2000.

“We watched the Grinch all the time in school and it really grew to be one of my favorite Christmas time movies. Frosty the Snowman is also another one of my favorite movies, and I usually watched them with my family and my girlfriend,” senior Carter Roedel said.
