As their 2018-2019 season begins the Golden Girls have gone through some major changes, starting with their name. For years the Golden Girls have been known as one of the nations top all girls high school dance team but now with the introduction of the first Golden Guy, freshman Nathan Polancyak, they’re ready to showcase something Howell hasn’t seen before.

“I wasn’t sure how the school and the team would respond to me but they have been really welcoming and I love it.” Polancyak said .

The GG’s & Co. team captain this year is senior Samantha Miller. She has been on the team since her freshman year and what’s a better way to end her Golden Girl career than as captain.

“My experience as the captain overall has been super positive and exciting. Especially leading the team, we have never been more talented and all share a common goal.” Miller said.

“This season we are focusing on our team instead of other teams. Making sure we do our best and making our dances a lot more technical.” senior Callee Rowell said.

Last season the team placed 4th in Nationals for hip-hop and 11th for jazz,  and won state with 1st in hip-hop and jazz.
