Shayna Crosby
After reading about the mistreatment of women around the world, junior Shayna Crosby strived to become a voice for all.
“To me, a feminist is a person that wants equality for each and every gender,” Crosby said.
Crosby feels she has a responsibility to be a women’s rights advocate.
“If I live in a world where I am free, I should be the voice for the silenced,” Crosby said.
Crosby believes that it is important to be an advocate for women’s rights in today’s world.
“We must remember that we are lucky. We live in an area where women can be free, but in other areas, women don’t have the luxury of controlling their own bodies,” Crosby said.
To spread her beliefs, Crosby tries to spread kindness every day at Howell.
“It is the only thing worth our time,” Crosby said.
Crosby wants Howell and the community to change how they view feminism.
“I want to remove the harshness towards the label of feminism, because it means equality for all,” Crosby said.
