Girls varsity lacrosse takes on Howell Central
Howell takes on Howell Central, April 27
The girl varsity lacrosse team will face Howell Central April 27 at 4:15 p.m. The home game will be the team’s eighth, given there aren’t any more weather delays.
The team has gotten off to a rocky start, having lost both starting games.
“We’ve had a lot of setbacks with injuries and losing players,” senior Lauren Jacquin said. “We’ve really gotten better at playing together and working with the new players.”
“Some strengths we have are communicating as a team, and some weaknesses are definitely getting ground balls,” senior Veronica Schroeder said.
Some of the other school’s lacrosse teams seem to have the one up on Howell, like Notre Dame and Northwest, Howell’s first two competitors. Howell lost first to Northwest 9-20, then to Notre Dame 6-7. However, Howell came up victorious against Hazelwood Central, winning 9-8, and moving their record up to 1-3.
“We don’t really have any rivals at the moment. The skill levels of each team change dramatically each year, so it’s hard to tell what will he a hard matchup,” Schroeder said.
