As October arrives and temperatures drop, Fall blows into St. Louis. As the leaves change and seasonal spices fill the air, many people want to everything and anything to take advantage of the fall weather. With so many fall specific activities to cross of the bucket list, here are the top five things to do to get into the seasonal spirit.

  1. Visit a pumpkin patch. The iconic orange gourd is one of the most recognized representations of the changing of seasons, so grab some friends and visit a pumpkin patch near you. Take a hayride, pick a pumpkin, or just enjoy the nice weather at the patch.
  2. Go apple picking. The saying goes, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” so why not pick your own apples for a change. Whether your favorite is Red Delicious, Honeycrisp, or any other kind, taking home a few fruits right from the tree will be an unforgettable experience.
  3. Bake a fall treat. Pumpkin pie, apple pie, pumpkin cheesecake blondies, caramel apples, snickerdoodles with a twist, or any other creation the mind can imagine, are the perfect ways to bake into the fall season. Any tasty treat paired with a blanket will make you feel right at home this fall season.
  4. Watch a Halloween themed movie. Whether it is  scary thriller keeping you on the edge of your seat, or a feel good movie from your childhood, watching a movie that fits the season will be sure to make you feel like it’s fall. Grab a friend or family member to watch with you, and it can only get better.
  5. Take a step outside. Fall is fleeting, so before the winter cold rushes in, take a moment to step outside and enjoy the cool chill while the sun is still shining. Try a bike ride down the Katy Trail, or maybe a walk through Busch Wildlife. Whatever it is, being outside and active never hurts with weather like this.
