Aug 12, Junior Tyler Sprouse(8) passes the ball to his teammate in the Ladue game. The jamboree ended early due to storms.

Rain. Lots of Rain. Rain marked Howell’s jamboree, the first unofficial games of the season, Aug 12. With an original start time of five and three games scheduled, the rain in the forecast prompted a change in start time to 4:30pm, in an attempt to avoid the rain. Unfortunately for some, they didn’t avoid the rain all together

“It was terrible because my hair got wet,” junior Dinah West said. “I left early, but I really wanted to see us win.”

Senior Joe Wikoff thought the rain didn’t affect their performance.

“There wasn’t a lot of rain and it only affected us at the very end,” Wikoff said.

The game ended up being delayed when the officials were late and ended up starting fifteen minutes late. They played three games against McClure, Ladue North, and CBC.

“We were a lot more confident. We worked well together. The team is coming along,” Wikoff said.
