April 2, varsity boys volleyball competed in the St. Louis Classic Bracket tournament. The boys began the tournament Friday going undefeated, against Lutheran South, Mehlville, and Rockwood Summit, giving them a solid placement for Saturday finals. They played their first final game against Desmet, a team revival. Desmet took a win in the first match.

“The points were close,” Gallagher said. “Every hit counted in the second match.”

The boys stole the win in the second match, and finished winning the final match 22-21.

“We stopped playing to win, and we began playing for each other,” junior Owen Gallagher. “That is the main reason we beat Desmet.”

Overall the team finished third.
