Baseball season is back, which brings ballcaps, freshly cut grass, and dirt-stained clothes.

After a week and a half of games, the team is 4-1, with a third place finish in the Troy Classic tournament. In order to get to the consolation game, the team went 2-1 within their pool and played DeSmet in their first bracket game, beating them 9-4.

In their first five games, the team has a combined .377 average and a .483 on-base percentage.

The 20th annual Midwest Classic started this week, and will extend until April 2. The tournament, hosted by the Vikings, has been established for 20 years. In the past five years, Howell has taken home the trophy three times.

In its first game, March 28, the Vikings defeated Jackson 14-4.

The Vikings are scheduled to play Westminster on March 29 at 4 p.m.
