Girls Varsity Swim Finished Second in GAC Tournament
Fighting for the finish senior Kylie Flagel swims the last leg of the 400-freestyle relay, for Varsity girls swimming, in the final event of the GAC conference Feb. 11.
“Even though I was out touched, I had a personal best in my 100 free time,” Flagel said. “I’m so proud of the rest of my relay to, they performed to the best of their ability.”
Sophomores Erin Gilbert, Katelyn Schenk, junior Kelly Schroeder, and Flagel fell to second place.
Racking up the points for the night, sophomores Emma Brabham and Madison Nguyen take gold in both individual swims, as well as being apart of both of the winning relays.
“Winning together in the relay, is a lot more fun than winning individually,” Nguyen said.
Junior Alyssa Juris, Nguyen, Brabham, and Flagel, set a new GAC record in the 200 free relay.
All sixteen girls qualified for the GAC finals. They placed second at conference falling 50 points short of Zumwalt West.
