Jan. 11, boys freshmen basketball came to a close encounter with a loss, until freshman Jack Wilhelm came up with the shot of his life. With only a few seconds left on the clock, Wilhelm heaved a shot from half court.

“I had a good feeling the shot was going in, because it looked like a pretty accurate shot, but I did think it would hit the backboard and miss,” Wilhelm said.

Wilhelm’s shot ended up going in which lead to a final score of 43-41. This win gives the team a record of 4-8, and they will look to use this as a momentum builder into their next game against Francis Howell Central Jan. 13.

“I have been playing basketball since I was 3 years old, and i have never had a comparable moment to this in my life,” Wilhelm said.
