The boys varsity basketball team traveled to Joplin, MO for the annual Kaminsky Classic, Jan. 7-9. The team began the tournament with the win over Jefferson City, 57-55, Jan. 7. Howell then defeated Joplin, 69-34, Jan. 8. A total of eight players had three-point shots. With these wins, Howell advanced to the championship game against St. Louis Christian Academy, Jan. 9. Down by ten at the half, Howell battled back but eventually lost, 57-52. With a record of 2-1 in the tournament, the team finished second. Seniors Brett Elifritz and Clayton Ambrose were named All-Tournament players.
