The verdict is in–the 2015 edition of the Howelltonian received an All-American rating from the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA). This is the eighth All-American the yearbook has received in the past nine years.
NSPA evaluates yearbook from all over the country on areas such as design, photography, and writing. The 2015 edition scored perfect on design and near perfect on photography. If a yearbook staff receives 10 All-Americans in an 11-year span, the publication joins the NSPA’s All-American Hall of Fame.
“To get that eighth All-American feels really good,” 2016 co-editor Maddie Villeneuve said. “We’re continuing 10 years of hard work.”
With its newest All-American award, the Howelltonian has only two years to go.
“The Hall of Fame represents books that have been consistently excellent. It’s an exclusive club to be a part of,” adviser Michele Dunaway said. “We’re getting close to joining that club.”
