Hula skirts, Hawaiian shirts, and flip flops adorned Howell superfans for the football jamboree, Aug. 14. Fan participation began long before kickoff with students wearing beach attire to school.
“After seeing people who were decked out with sweet beach gear, it added greater excitement and anticipation for the night,” senior Zack Reader said.
With this surge of support, Activities Director Sean Erwin included a list of expectations for fans in the last issue of the Viking Insider. Some include no singling out opposing players and no body paint. The student fan section was larger than any home game last year.
“I’m pumped to see how crowded our home games will get. It makes me even more excited for this football season. I feel like everybody wants to play that much harder so they can excite the huge home crowd,” senior Colton White said.
