For the first year Francis Howell will have a snowboarding and ski club. The club will meet at Hidden Valley Ski Resort in Eureka, Missouri. Club founders sophomore Blake Johnson and sophomore Tim Macchi will be in charge with teacher sponsor Mr. Benson.

There is still question of a parking pass being provided for the club.

“For a parking pass I believe you have to have a certain amount of meetings during the week to qualify for pass.” Johnson said.

The club will have set days where they will go over the basics you need on the hills to enhance your skills and to show you how to ride skis or a snowboard. The club hopes to have at least 15 people in the club. To join, you will have to sign a waiver that states an injury is not the school’s fault.

“We will have experienced members in our club to go teach and show them basic moves.” Johnson said.

The club will teach new riders and help kids make new friends.

“If you go as a group it is much cheaper than if you were to go just yourself.” Macchi said.

“There is a plan on the Hidden Valley website which gives a small discount for group rentals which can really add up and help you save.” Macchi said.
