iOS8 Update

Making its debut along with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on Sept. 17th, iOS 8 offered various large changes in the Apple software. The more noticeable updates were the QuickType, the all new HealthKit application, and advanced Siri capabilities.

“The change that I’ve noticed the most has been the QuickReply. It makes it a lot easier to reply to texts without exiting out of the app you are in,” junior Trevor Rhoads said.

However innovative, Apple customers that downloaded the update experienced consequences.

“The iOS 8 update deleted all of my pictures back to 8th grade. It’s kind of like erasing all of my memories,” Rhoads said.

The update needed 5GB of space, either on iCloud storage, or on the user’s computer. Because of the size, people who downloaded the software were forced to delete applications that took up large amounts of space.

“I had to get rid of a lot of the apps I used often, just because of the space they took up,” junior Caitlyn O’Connor said.

Overall, the new update was well-received and offered a variety of advanced features.
