The Golden girls have returned from Universal Dance Association nationals in Orlando, one of the most elite high school dance competitions in the nation.
This year, the stakes were high.
“It was the most intense competition that I have ever seen. Every team really brought good competition this year and their dances were phenomenal,” senior Marleigh Anderson said.
The other teams did some extremely hard dance moves.
“Every hip hop team did a head spring and the dances where college level,” sophomore Angie Gerst said.
The golden girls walked onto the stage ready to give it their all.
“We went to finals and walked out of a castle to a floating camera with tons of people cheering. We saw our parents and the J.V. girls cheering,” Gerst said.
The team practiced rigorously in preparation.
“Both of our performances were the best time we’ve done them so we walked off with a great feeling,” Anderson said.
Their hard work was displayed in their accolades.
“We got 12th in jazz and 10th in hip hop in the nation,” Anderson said.
