On Saturday, Nov. 10, the varsity boy swim team competed at the MSHSAA State Swimming and Diving competition, ranking 3rd overall.
Junior Alex Crawford finished as the 100 free state champion, and fourth overall in the 100 back. Junior Ryan Baker placed second overall in the 500 free, earning a Summer Junior National time and All-American status. In addition, Baker placed third in the 200 IM.
Captain Bobby Wood placed fourth in the 100 breast stroke, and finished 21st in the 200 IM. Senior Josh Hempen finished out his high school swim career with a 32nd rank in the 100 free, and 45th in the 200 free. First time state competitor, junior Carson Paull, finished 38th in the 100 free, and 39th in the 100 breast stroke.
This is the highest team state-wide placement in Howell boys swimming history.
