“Just another cliche….” that’s what I was thinking while watching the New Spider Man. Sony Pictures attempted to re-launch a very profitable franchise. It’s efficient, but nothing more.
As we should remember from Sam Rainis’ first Spiderman movie, the character Peter mourns from the loss of his parents due to homicide. Publicity promised to tell the “untold story” of Spiderman, but it’s just a tale that has already been told before.Once again, Peter is bitten by a spider in the beginning of the movie, discovers he has incredible super powers and becomes a modern day superhero. With Andrew Garfield playing the lead, a new type of humor is added. But the storyline is too much of a given, and quite frankly, was produced for two reasons: money and Twilight. This was a huge disappointment.
