Hit a light switch, or turn on a microphone, and they typically function properly. For the past few years, those in the auditorium couldn’t count on this. The theater has relied on the same equipment to light and and add sound to the stage since the 1970s. Brand new equipment was installed over the summer.

“I hated [the old lights and sound equipment]. I think everyone else did too,” drama club vice president Michelle Zigler said.
Along with unreliability, half of the knobs on the soundboard didn’t function, lights didn’t cover the whole stage, and microphones often stopped working mid-performance.
“The boards were old, finicky, hard to maneuver, and inadequate,” drama club president Tina Donnelly said.
New equipment yields higher performance quality.

“The new equipment will enhance performance value,” Zigler said.
