Limelight Theatre captured awards in six categories at the St. Louis Cappies Gala Saturday, May 19. The spring play, Distracted lead the troupe to the top. Heidi Rose, Corie Zimmerling, Austin Snider and Kaitlyn Snider won the “Best Sound” award for Distracted. Rachel Drury, Michael Carter and Chad Meece won “Best Lighting” for Distracted. Sam Crosby, Reggie Wishom and Michelle Zigler won “Best Special Effects and/or Technology” for Distracted. Katie Angeli won “Best Featured Actress in a Play” for Distracted. Ashley Unland won “Best Lead Actress in a Play” for Distracted. Distracted was also named “Best Play”.Summer may be approaching, but the Cappies Gala is not the end of the line for the troupe. Limelight Theatre will perform today for the 3rd year in conjunction with the Shakespeare Festival St. Louis’ “Shake 28” today. Come see the troupe perform Shakespeare’s “A Comedy of Errors in the Commons” from 3pm-4pm at Francis Howell High School.
