The FCCLA competed in the Jan. 30 regional FCCLA at Montgomery High School.
In the cooking competition, Nick Norton, Kaitlyn Russell and Erica Nolan qualified for state. Each earned over 90 points to receive a Gold medal in their competition. The team made Pork and Mushroom Scaloppini, Rice Pilaf and a dessert of Apple and Cranberry turnover. They were judged on safety and sanitation, organization, food production and food taste.
The other Gold Medal winner was Emily Phelps who qualified in Teach and Train based on her experience of helping FACS teacher Jane Merdic with the “Baby, Think It Over” dolls.
In total, FCCLA received 4 Gold, 12 Silver and 2 Bronze medals.
