Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve posted. What can I say, my life’s crazy.
Anyways, last week I made homemade pizza with my family! The dough was originally meant for my 18th birthday party but seeing as our oven broke that didn’t happen. The oven was replaced last Wednesday and is now powered by gas which makes me extremely happy.
I made enough pizza dough for about 10 individual pizza so we still have a ton in our freezer. The pizza dough recipe comes from the WS cookbook and it’s extremely easy to throw together. This is one of the reasons I love kids’ cookbooks. The recipes are usually really simple and the food always tastes awesome.
I cut up an assortment of veggies (mushrooms, onions and green peppers), cooked up some sausage, bought some pepperoni, pizza sauce, and mozzarella cheese and we were set.
My little brother made a pepperoni pizza with an artery-clogging amount of cheese on it. I had everything except for pepperoni on mine (I’m not a big fan of the grease). My mom made hers supreme and my dad wasn’t feeling the greatest so he didn’t have one.
The pizza ended up tasting great and it was a lot of fun making a floury mess when I made the dough. Plus it was a great family activity, which doesn’t happen very often anymore with our hectic schedules. In the end, I think this might be one of my favorite recipes out of the three cookbooks so far.
This is officially my third recipe from the WS cookbook so it will be taking its place back on the shelf above our microwave for now. I really love this cookbook and hope to try more recipes from it in my spare time. Like I said before the recipes are easy and have phenomenal flavors. If you love baking as much as I do I really recommend purchasing this book.
6 down 3 to go.
