Greyson Chance Another Studio Creation

Greyson Chance Another Studio Creation
“Unfriend You” is an incredibly creative title for a song. In fact, it also happens to be an incredibly appropriate title for a single on Greyson Chance’s debut album,  Hold on ‘Til the Night.

…..because I want to unfriend this music.

Average pop beats, and excessive use of auto tune on an adolescent voice yet to truly reach its maturity leave me unimpressed. While I do respect Chance’s hands on involvement in the album (he played a part in the majority of the song writing), this does not change the fact that his album lacks spark and appeal. Chance may be talented, but these songs to not do his musical abilities justice.

I will say, the song “Waiting Outside the Lines”, a Chance original, is a tad catchy. Many may recognize it, as he performed this on “Ellen” following his discovery on YouTube.

In fact, “Waiting Outside the Lines” might be one of the only age appropriate songs on this album. In the single “Heart Like Stone”, Chance sings about staying out all night and dancing with girls. In “Cheyenne” he sings of painful heart break, and making a girl the center of his world.

He’s fourteen years old. Girls should still have cooties, and his curfew should be 10 PM. Granted, he might very well be making more money than working adults off this album. However, this doesn’t change his age.
