- Class of 2013 Parents – Our October Parent Club Meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 18, 7:00 p.m. at Sports Fusion. We’ll take a tour of the facility, which is the possible site for our Grad Night Celebration, and then have a short meeting there to discuss the final details of our Holiday Boutique fundraiser that will be on Oct. 22. Feel free to bring your high schooler to also check out the place. S/he can play some miniature golf while we adults conduct our short meeting after the tour. - Parents of Seniors: The Class of 2012 Parent Club will meet tomorrow, October 6th 7:00 PM at Brunswick XL 8070 Veterans Memorial Parkway. This will be the only time we will be touring the facility before our event. Hope you can attend!

- All seniors need to be photographed by Prestige Portraits in order to be in the yearbook. The yearbook sitting is complimentary. No other photos will be accepted and photos taken by Lifetouch at schedule pick up cannot be used. Prestige’s scheduling number is 314.963.1414. The deadline is Nov. 5.
- Francis Howell High School Varsity Football Youth Spectator Policy-2011 Effective immediately and to better ensure the safety and enjoyment of all spectators attending varsity football games at Howell Stadium, any student under the 9th grade must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult to be admitted to and remain at the event. ANY YOUTH SPECTATORS UNDER THE 9TH GRADE WITHOUT A DESIGNATED ADULT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INTO THE STADIUM. ALL YOUTH SPECTATORS WITHOUT ADULT SUPERVISION WILL BE ASKED TO WAIT OUTSIDE THE STADIUM UNTIL A PARENT OR DESIGNATED ADULT SUPERVISOR ARRIVES TO PICK THEM UP OR ACCOMPANY THEM INTO THE GAME. Accompanying adults are asked to maintain diligent supervision of those youth spectators for which they have assumed responsibility. All youth spectators found to be without adult supervision will be directed to return to the direct supervision of the adult(s) they came into the event with. If their adults are unable to be found, they will be held outside the stadium until a responsible adult comes to pick them up or accompany them back to the game. GUIDANCE:
- 2011 Yale Information Session. The Assistant Director of Admissions will discuss academic programs, residential college and campus life, admissions and financial aid. Session will be held at Clayton High School, to register please visit: apps.admissions.yale.edu/events
- Juniors are eligible to apply for the KMOX/SEMO Student of Achievement Program. This premiere scholarship recognizes the achievements in school and community activities. Thirty St. Louis area students will be awarded $3000 scholarships from SEMO for the fall of 2013. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due back by October 21, 2011.
- Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership program is open to sophomores. The mission is to inspire and develop global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. Francis Howell High School will select one sophomore to represent our school at this event held in the spring of 2012. Interested sophomores should submit an essay on the topic “Describe your most rewarding and challenging aspect of being a leader in your school and community”. Essays should be typewritten and turned into Mrs. Potts in the guidance office by Friday, October 21. 9/30

Must be available for an interview prior to the Award Luncheon. Must compose an Executive Business Summary with Business Concept, including nature of the business, personal objectives, philosophy, values and contribution to the community. Market analysis, including market need, competition and strategy to meet the need and successfully compete. Business operations, including necessary management, employees, Vendors, professional assistance, facility and technology. Sales and Marketing efforts that will be necessary. Sources and uses of money necessary to start and operate the business.
- Missouri State University is hosting its “Fall Showcase” on Saturday October 8th. Showcase offers students/parents the opportunity to meet with faculty, attend sessions on Admissions, Financial Aid, and Housing, take shuttle tours of campus, attend a football game, and much more.
