Science classes have been adding a new component to the classroom experience: animals. Science teacher Sam Berendzen’s classes raised over 400 dollars the first week of school so they could buy new pets for the class.
The classes competed against each other and the class who raised the most amount of money per person would get a class party.
Berendzen’s second hour raised $2.14 per person, third hour raised $3.62 per person, fourth hour raised $2.92 per person, fifth hour raised $2.30 per person, sixth raised $4.29 per person, and seventh hour raised $4.33 per hour.
Two hours raised over a hundred dollars each. Despite the amount of money the classes raised, all had input on what animals they wanted.
Berendzen’s classroom houses a hedgehog, two turtles, two snakes, two rats, two crabs, and a gecko.
