Serving food, wiping down tables, and vacuuming the floor. Band members worked at Culver’s to repay back their dues.

Being in marching band can be quite expensive.

“The average amount per student to be in marching band is $650 per season,” Booster mom Tammy Burkett said.

That $650 covers a lot.

“That includes our tickets, hotels, fees, and meals at competitions,” Burkett said.

All students use family accounts to afford marching band fees.

“Family accounts are accounts that tuitions are due and they have the school year to pay it off,” Booster mom Sandy Brandel said.

By fundraising at Culver’s, the Band receives 10 percent of all the profits made between 5-10p.m.

“This is one of the fundraisers where we provide workers from 5-8p.m. and the students receive money to put into their family accounts,” Brandel said.

With this fundraiser students are able to really get involved.

“Culvers is a place where kids can do all the work like serving food and cleaning up after the customers,” Brandel said.

Organizers describe the event as win-win.

“This is a win-win, we bring in business and we get money for our organization,” Brandel said.
