Roses are red. Violets are blue. Snow can ruin Valentine’s Day too. Because of snow days, FCCLA’s tradition of selling chocolate covered strawberries the week of Valentine’s Day was delayed.
“It takes time to put these things together. We weren’t in class and there wasn’t enough time to promote it,” FCCLA sponsor and FACS teacher Priscilla Reed said.
The sales were not cancelled though.
“I let the students choose, and they said they would still want to buy strawberries,” Reed said.
Reed’s students anticipate a high demand for the strawberries.
“Even though Valentine’s Day is over, people will still buy them. I mean who doesn’t love chocolate covered strawberries?” junor Rachel Drury said.
FCCLA members and Reed’s FACS students will dip and package the strawberries during class.
“Kids in my FACS classes are automatically apart of FCCLA too. We do a unit on candy, and the chocolate covered strawberries tie into that,” Reed said.
Chocolate covered strawberries are available March 7-11 for purchase in room C130.
