Science classes inform students

Nov 17, during all science hours, students attended informational meetings about possible science courses they can take next year. Teachers gave presentations that provided students with the confidence they needed to pick a science course for the 2011-2012 school year. The objective of this informational day was to give students a clear understanding of what they will be experiencing in their science classes next year.

Teachers are hoping that the information being provided to the students will give them a clear understanding of what is to come. Therefore, achieving less drop outs at semester that science teachers see so much of now.

On top of achieving less drops at semester, science teachers are highly encouraging the freshman of this year to consider “doubling up” on science next year. This will give them more options for possible classes that they can take their junior and senior years.

Overall, giving these presentations to students and informing them of what options they have brings the science teachers the hope that in the 2011-2012 school year they will see less drop rates and more students who appreciate the course for what it really is.
