Limelight Theatre prepares to sing

Every year, new and veteran drama club members heckle theatre director Charles Mueller. Their heckling has been unsuccessful for almost four years, but has finally paid off. For the first time in four years, Limelight Theatre has announced that there will be a winter musical; Zombie Prom.

“The last musical we did was Pajama Game when I was in 8th grade,” senior Kassie King said. “Musicals get people excited and they also bring in new drama club members.”

Much of the student body has been waiting for another musical to come along since the last musical got cancelled.

“We’re really excited to be doing a musical after so many years,” Mueller said. “It seems to have generated excitement.”

Even though auditions were only last week, Zombie Prom is already getting on it’s feet. Mueller has been planning out and deciding on his choice of a musical since the beginning of summer break.

“We had to find a good fit that was appropriate,” Mueller said.  “The majority of [Zombie Prom] can be student led.”

“I’m excited to make 50’s costumes,” senior Alex Schad said. “I’m hoping they’ll be colorful since it’s a musical.”

Applications for band members and choreographers are located in the drama room, A129. Forms are still being accepted for a limited time.
