After waiting months to receive the news, the cheers coming from room A115 could be heard in the hallways.
For the third time in the last four years, Howelltonian won the All American rating; a prestigious award given to the best of the best in the publications world.
“It’s really awesome to know that all the hard work we put into the book last year paid off,” yearbook editor Kaci Jolly said. “It kinda sucked in the process, but it paid off getting All American.”
Last year’s theme, From The Ground Up, was given five marks of distinction. The book was applauded for the coverage, photography, and design among other things. It was the first year that the book was ordered in chronological order.
“I really liked the way they ordered things,” senior Steven Gerst said. “It influenced me to join the publications staff this year.”
The veterans of last year’s staff enjoyed cake as a reward for the All American rating.
“I think it’s nice to be rewarded for all of our hard work,” staff member Alex Timpone said.
