The latest season of “Fortnite,” called “Fortnite OG,” is fun for new and familiar players alike. 

It is amazing. I love the nostalgic feeling which makes me not want to stop playing. This new season has everything: action-based fighting for the more skilled players, and soothing graphics so everyone can enjoy the scenery when they are battling for the Victory Royale. I give this season a 4.5 rating because it combines action, nostalgia, and new graphics to intrigue players to engage in combat.

The new OG season in Fortnite this month brings back original gameplay, offering a nostalgic experience for players who loved the game from its release  seven  years ago. In this OG mode, players return to the original “Fortnite” map, with classic locations, limited-time items and the gameplay style from the early days, like the older building mechanics and weapons. This new season gives veteran players a chance to play the game they loved so much  many years ago. This escape from the future that” Fortnite” provides also gives the newer players a feeling of what the game used to feel like and helps newer players see how far “Fortnite” has come.

The OG season also brings a new world for the newer players, opening it to both long-time and first-time players. It is clear designers made decisions with this audience in mind. The older movement and ancient graphics help players adapt to new movements and help a balanced and fair  combat style that is friendly for all levels.  Merging the old playstyle and nostalgic graphics helps the “Fortnite” community come together and become stronger. With the help of “Fortnite” developers, they have brought many players from all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels together to enjoy the game as one, as it should be.

“Fortnite” is attempting to make the game slower from what it used to be, perhaps a more relaxing feeling. This makes the players stop and think how thankful they are to have OG “Fortnite” back once again.The slower gameplay includes slower building mechanics and slower-based combat, which makes fighting one another less skill-based and more of an even playing field so there is a chance for any player to win. This takes a step back from what Fortnite recently was, as it was a fast-paced, skill-based game that made many fights unequal and unplayable for many players. Players who disliked the uneven fighting field now get  a chance to stand their ground against the better players. With this even playing field, players have more fun because they don’t have to worry about the complex play style “Fortnite” once followed. 

“Fortnite” and “Call of Duty: Warzone” have much in common with their games, as they both are battle royales and there could only be one player or team that wins the game. But at the same time, they are quite different, as “Fortnite” stays with their old movement and mechanics. On the other hand, the “Call Of Duty: Warzone” is always changing to newer and more complex movements. While they both have had recent updates, “Fortnite’s” movement in their update has much easier movement and mechanics than COD’s new movement. This brings many gamers’ attention to “Fortnite,” as they are more comfortable with the movement that they have known for years.

“Fortnite” and “Apex Legends” are also very similar battle royale games.  But Apex tends to have one of the most complex and overwhelming movements ever brought to the gaming world. “Fortnite” has a simpler and easier-to-learn movement which makes it much easier for gamers to learn than Apex, which has many players confused about the ways to successfully move better than their opponent. This makes Fortnite gain more attention and a stronger fanbase with the easier ranges of movement compared to Apex.

Overall, I gladly give Fortnite’s new season a rating on a scale from 0-5 a 4.5.  “Fortnite” has exceeded gamers’  expectations. They have given the “Fortnite” community better movement, better graphics, and more action-based fighting to ensure everyone can have an even playing experience. With all of those amazing concepts being added into the new season, there should be no surprise why the “Fortnite OG” update earns such a high rating.
