Minecraft “The Garden Awakens” update is a rather small update that adds a variety of new blocks, items and even a new enemy.
The update is rather lackluster. This update adds a brand new wood type and biome to the game, which is nice, but lacks in content. The update is targeted towards more of the “builder” type of player and it is possible to beat the whole game before even encountering the biome that the new wood type spawns in. The new hostile enemy the “Creaking” is easy to deal with and adds no difficulty to the game. It is obvious that there was an attempt made to spook the player with this new biome, but it lacks the effects, sounds and difficulty needed. Overall, the added building blocks and items are nice, the new mob is unique, and new biomes are always welcome, but this update fails to fulfill the promises of the developers and fails to meet expectations of fans for what an update should contain.
Minecraft’s “The Garden Awakens” update offers great content for the players that like building and exploring, but offers very little to those fans that have been waiting for the game’s next big update.
“The Garden Awakens” update adds a new type of wood that is very useful for those who like to build. Many players have been begging and waiting for a white color of wood, as white easily complements many of the other colorful blocks throughout the game. Builders have a lot more variety when it comes to building wood based projects.
On the other hand, “The Garden Awakens” update fails to meet expectations of long time fans and lacks game changing content. Many of my friends and people on the internet have stated that this update is very small and lacks quality game-changing content, that the features added this update would be better paired with a bigger, better update. This update was the second content focused update released this year and it is a disappointment to the size of the previous update.
The update could have had more unique mechanics or at least impacted the way you play the game. The last update added a new weapon to the game, which does not happen often: the last weapon before the mace was the crossbow in 2019. This update does not change the way you play the game whatsoever. Many players can go through the update without even seeing the biome in their world, and for the update to be engaging, there should be more reason to go there other than getting the white colored wood.
Compared to Minecraft’s “Nether Update” in 2020, “The Garden Awakens” update lacks the same quality of content. The “Nether Update” added two new types of wood, many new mobs and even four new biomes, which puts the Pale Garden to shame. Even though the developers changed their update schedule, many fans still don’t think it is enough.
Compared to the promises of the developers, “The Garden Awakens” is not what the fans wanted. The developers of Minecraft promised a Savanna update a couple of years ago for a biome vote, but instead of getting that update, we got a completely new biome. They are not putting out their own promised ideas and failing to please the fans. The developers should focus on the promised content they wanted to release instead of making entirely new content.
I would give this update a 3 out of 5 stars because it adds good content for those who like to build and explore, but it lacks quality content and features. It doesn’t change the game at all, which can be a good thing or a bad thing so I feel like there could not have even been a need for an update, particularly this one. Minecraft’s “The Garden Awakens” Update is a bland update that was added just to fill space in the game, not a good update, not a bad update, just an update.
